Design for America and the YMCA of the USA present: Voices of the Future Workshop Series Saturday, October 14

Design for America and the YMCA invite you to join us for a hands-on, in-person workshop to re-imagine youth spaces in New York. Voices of the Future: Workshopping a Youth Centered Tomorrow invites community leaders and organizers - ages 18-25 - into a collaborative discussion space to share their ideas, perspectives, and hopes about what our community programming could be.

We're interested in identifying new ways to support youth community building across the country. Whether you're a seasoned community organizer, a design enthusiast, a student, or simply curious about the possibilities of a future created by and for youth, we want to hear from you!

What makes a community space feel like your space?What community issues are you passionate about, and how can we support and resource you in addressing them?What should the YMCA consider in designing youth programming spaces that are safe, accessible, and accommodating of young people's unique needs and preferences?

This two-hour workshop includes opportunities to connect with other young leaders, space to voice your hopes (and concerns) about the future of youth community spaces, and activities to envision how we can empower, engage, and enrich the work that young leaders are already doing in New York. Insights from each session will be used to directly shape future programming at the YMCA on a national level.

Lunch will be provided, and EVERY attendee will receive a $25 gift card for participation!
