GROUP LIFESTYLE BALANCE – DIABETES PREVENTION PROGRAM (Register Here)
The Group Lifestyle BalanceTM Program provides education, encouragement and the tools necessary to help individuals reach their healthy lifestyle goals. This program is designed for non–diabetic, overweight individuals age 18 and older who have pre–diabetes and/or the metabolic syndrome. These conditions increase the risk for developing type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease. At the conclusion of the initial 6 month Core Program (including 12 weekly, 1 bi-weekly and 3 monthly sessions), individuals will continue with monthly Post Core maintenance sessions for ongoing support and guidance. The Group Lifestyle BalanceTM program is designed for overweight adults who are at risk for developing diabetes.

RESTORATIVE YOGA (Register Here)
Restorative Yoga uses blankets, blocks, straps and bolsters to aid in achieving physical, mental and emotional relaxation. After propping the body, the poses are held for an extended period of time. Members must have 2 blankets available for class. These can be purchased from www.yogadirect.com/handmade – Traditional Mexican Yoga Blanket.

VIRTUAL PROGRAMS AND SUPPORT
BLOOD PRESSURE SELF-MONITORING PROGRAM (BPSM)
In this Virtual version of the YMCA’s Blood Pressure Self-Monitoring program, our staff will assist you through live Zoom nutrition presentations and program discussions, provide email updates and office hours, be available for support, assistance and motivation. Open to the community at this time. Registration required. Multiple days and times offered. If you can’t join our live discussion times, please join anyway – email and telephone office hours will be available to you!
Research shows that simply checking and recording your blood pressure (BP) twice a month for four months may lower BP for those with high BP. To qualify for BPSM, participants must be 18+ years of age, have been diagnosed with high BP, not experienced a recent cardiac event or have any arrhythmias or atrial fibrillation. With BPSM, participants will work with trained staff over a four-month period to improve their self-monitoring skills. Program goals are to reduce and better manage your BP, and enhance knowledge of healthier eating habits. Monthly Nutrition Seminars will highlight healthier eating habits.
DIABETES EMPOWERMENT EDUCATION PROGRAM (DEEP)
DEEP is a 6-week program designed to help participants gain a better understanding of diabetes self -care. Relatives and caregivers are welcome to also attend. Each session is 1.5-2 hours in length, with a class size between 5 – 15 participants. Curriculum includes developing self-care, preventing complications, increasing physical activity, improved nutrition, and utilizing available resources.
Y's WEIGHT LOSS PROGRAM (WLP)
In this Virtual version of the Y’s Weight Loss program, our staff will assist you through live Zoom nutrition presentations and program discussions, provide email updates, be available for support, assistance and motivation. Open to the community at this time. Registration required. WLP is a group-based twelve week program for adults 18+ years and is designed to empower, encourage and provide the tools needed for success. Weekly topics include balanced eating, physical activity, goal setting, positive psychology and behavior sustainability. Through group work, all participants design personal action plans to achieve their own personal weight loss goals.
HEALTHY WEIGHT AND YOUR CHILD (HWYC)
In this Virtual version of the Healthy Weight and Your Child program, our staff will assist you through live Zoom nutrition presentations and program discussions, provide email updates, be available for support, assistance and motivation. This is a family-based weight management program for children ages 7 – 13 with obesity. Both the parent and child are educated HWYC is designed with the entire family in mind. Both the child and parent learn the positive healthy eating and physical activity changes needed to live a healthier life. Each child should be in the 95th percentile of body mass index and be able to receive clearance from a school nurse or healthcare provider if requested.
