Our commitment is to strengthen the foundations of community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The Gateway Family YMCA offers Summer Camps to serve the communities of Union County and Middlesex County, as well as the surrounding areas. Parents need a summer camp they can trust and children need a summer camp that will hold their attention and spark their imagination. At The Gateway Family YMCA, Summer Camp is more than a program, it’s an adventure to last a lifetime!

- Leaders in Training Camp (Located at the Five Points Branch for all members)
Summer Day Camp is available in Elizabeth, Rahway and Union. We are now offering online registration – Register Online!

Our YMCA camps are designed to engage your child, enrich their mind, and strengthen their body. A week long, summer long, Y camp is where your child can make new friends, learn and discover, get creative and have fun trying new things in a safe and nurturing environment. Our campers will enjoy a wide variety of physical activities as well as arts & craft and enrichment activities. Traditional day of camp starts at 8:30 and ends at 5:00pm but early and extended care is available!
DISCOVERY CAMP
Entering Grades K & 1
This is a perfect introduction for first-time campers who are “discovering” the camp experience, building relationships and developing social skills. Discovery campers will engage in a nurturing environment that includes CATCH games, swim lessons and recreational swim, performing arts, sports, arts and crafts and much more.
EXPLORER CAMP
Entering Grades 2 & 3
Campers are “exploring” new camp experiences by promoting the importance of healthy relationships and lifestyles through various activities. Explorer Campers will participate in CATCH games, swim lessons and recreational swim, sports, arts and crafts, interactive games, performing arts, and much more.
ADVENTURE CAMP
Entering Grades 4 & 5
Campers will experience an “adventurous” summer, while they participate in team building exercises, and build new relationships. Campers will engage in CATCH games, swim lessons and recreational swim, team building activities, athletic activities, arts and crafts and much more.
PIONEER CAMP
Entering Grades 6 – 8
Campers are developing their leadership skills while engaging in an exciting camp experience. Pioneer campers get to take responsibility for their summer by planning and designing a camp specifically for them. Throughout the summer, campers will engage in CATCH games, team building activities, swim lessons and recreational swim, arts and crafts, and much more.
LEADERS IN TRAINING (L.I.T.)
Entering Grades 9 & 10
Campers will serve as mentors for younger campers, develop leadership skills, and experience the significance of community service. LIT is a leadership opportunity afor young teens.
