Our goal is to continue to expand our outreach and services to partner with all who can benefit.”
The Gateway Family YMCA offers programs including Group Exercise – virtual, indoor and outdoor programs like yoga and cycling, Youth Programs, Swimming – lap swimming, family swimming, swim lessons and swim team stroke clinic, Basketball for individuals and families, Child Care, Before and After School Care, Summer Day Camp, Virtual WISE Adult Services, Chronic Disease Management programs, Housing and Social Services.
“We understand that flexibility is important in our membership and program options, as everyone has their own comfort level for participation. We have included virtual options for 24-hour access for our members to enable us to serve our community in a unique way,” stated Melynda A. Mileski, EVP, Chief Operating Officer. “At the Y, we are here for the community and have worked tirelessly to meet the increased need in areas such as child care and swimming lessons.”
Getting healthy as a family can be fun. In today’s busy society, health and family need to come first, and the Y is the perfect place to share healthy activities with loved ones. Not only do parents and caretakers need to remain healthy in order to help their family, but their actions also set an example for all members of their immediate and expanded family. The Gateway Family YMCA provides healthy activities and programs for all ages, allowing individuals or families to share experiences, meet health goals and improve their everyday lives.
In addition to YMCA programs and services, The Gateway Family YMCA shares information on their Facebook page, www.facebook.com/GatewayFamilyY for the community, highlighting healthy family tips, nutritious recipes and simple exercises. The YMCA is also offering Virtual Chronic Disease Self-Management programs like Blood Pressure Self-Monitoring and the Diabetes Prevention Program free of charge, in both English and Spanish.
